Dakota Petersen

Landscape photographer of over ten years based out of Phoenix, Arizona. I work to make images which celebrate the diverse environments of the southwest on their terms, their timescales, in a way that is intimately local. Most often my tool is a digital camera, but I continue to explore medium and large format film for their timeless sense of presence. My hope is to make art which challenges simple notions of natural beauty, instead rewarding a deeper love of the complexity shared between species, places, and histories.
